The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills: The Giggy Is Up
This week's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills picks up right where we left off last week. If you recall, Kim Richards has a secret boyfriend who looks like a real life version of Shrek. Her sister Kyle is not happy about it, I guess because...well, I'm not sure why. Because she's controlling? Because she wants Kim to be closer to her, but she's actually pulling away? Because she's genuinely worried for Kim? It's probably a bit of all three. But regardless, Kyle's crying and completely failing at being supportive. Kim wants her to be happy for her; Kyle insists that Kim is just lonely, that she's making a mistake, that this Ken fellow isn't good enough for her. She believes all this without ever seeing them together, mind you. But God, don't call her judgey! She is not judgey, okay? Clearly.
Kim thinks that now (with Kyle bawling) is the perfect time for Kyle and Ken to meet. Ken, despite his ogre face, is nothing but polite. He's wearing a "promise ring" from Kim, which makes Kyle excuse herself to go cry some more. Is she crying because her sister is mentally in the seventh grade? What grown woman gets a grown man a promise ring? Is he going off to war? Kyle fully believes that Ken is bad for her sister, but she hopes to God that she's wrong. Frankly, I don't believe that for a second. She wants to say "I told you so" so badly on this one. As for Kim, she says that this is the first thing she's ever done in her life that she's wanted to do. I'm sure the children she's mothered are thrilled to hear that statement.
Our favorite Maloofers Adrienne and Paul are having a fancy dinner. It's Paul's birthday. Paul is still an insufferable asshat who orders Adrienne's food for her. There are tiger prawns. This scene is basically a waste of my fucking time. I suppose the point of this whole dumbass dinner bit is to shine light on Adrienne's concern for Taylor and Russell Armstrong. She has a hard time understanding Taylor and aptly describes her as a complete fucking mess I'm paraphrasing, but that's the gist. One minute Taylor's hysterical and inconsolable, the next she's insisting that everything is great. Adrienne hints that she suspects physical abuse, to which Paul responds, "I don't believe it! C'mon!" because he's a shit head. I don't get how anyone can be around Taylor for more than five minutes and not realize she's a victim of abuse, but hey, whatever. They're concerned, but then there's a sparkly birthday cake and they don't care anymore.
Meanwhile, Taylor is nominated for what surely must be a fake award. Something about women in business or women's business or busy women or some such nonsense. Obviously, she doesn't win because Taylor Armstrong is not a winner, but all the ladies are there to support her. Well, almost all the ladies. It seems as though Taylor purposely left Lisa Vanderpump off the guest list since she hates her and thinks she's spreading tabloid rumors about her and all. But Kyle totally sticks her foot in it by asking Lisa on the phone where she is - isn't she at the luncheon for Taylor? No? Oh, she wasn't invited? Whoops! This is obviously staged, since a camera crew just happens to be filming Lisa that afternoon as she makes a phone call, but it's kind of entertaining nonetheless. Social snubs are always funny!
And here he is - more Russell Armstrong. Can I just say that he is unequivocally creepy and not just because he's now dead. Because he really is. Oh hey, there's Dana Wilkey. She and her boobs are supportive of Taylor, by the way, but Adrienne thinks that Taylor is being passive aggressive by not inviting Lisa to the event. You know what? It's not, really. It's not passive aggressive to not invite someone you don't like to a luncheon in your honor. I'm just saying.
The following day, Lisa is having a tea. We're treated to a horribly offensive scene where Lisa tells her housekeeper Rosia that she just wants her to come in, pour the tea and leave. That's the only time she wants to see her. Seriously, she says that. Those are the words that she says. Rosia is actually wearing a pink uniform like she's a Mexican maid in a bad movie. Shut the fuck up, Lisa Vanderpump. They are having a "casual tea," full of champagne, cucumber sandwiches and pastries no one will eat. Adrienne, Kyle and Camille arrive first. I wonder, has Kim called to skip out yet? Is she "packing" some more? I wonder if Ken "packs" with her. Anyway, Kyle gossips a bit about her sis and they give Kim a ring and...ha! She can't come because of the move. CALLED IT. Oh Kim, never change. Additionally, Lisa's got another email from Russell, this time a tabloid story about how Taylor is on diet pills. Lisa would like to know why he keeps sending her these emails. While I don't think Lisa was actually feeding the tabloids, I will say she's kind of nasty about the whole thing: "At least we know Taylor is eating, even if it is diet pills," she says. Ouch.
And then, Taylor arrives. It's very dramatic, with a slow motion cruise up the driveway in a big black SUV. After a few awkward moments of small talk, Lisa comes right out with it: she's miffed about the luncheon snub, especially since she's always made an effort to be nice to Taylor. She invited her to the tea as well as her daughter's engagement party. Taylor? Freaks out. She reminds Lisa that she always begins their conversations with, "I'm not your friend." No matter how hard Taylor's tried, Lisa will not be her friend! Oh lord. Honestly, Lisa may not be the most delicate person around, but get a grip Taylor. What she said was, "I know we haven't always been the best of friends, but if you are in trouble, you and your daughter can stay with me." I don't think that's offensive. Hell, it's generous. Lisa knows they aren't close, but she's willing to open up her home to a woman and child in a dangerous situation. But God is Taylor is offended. Why? Because she's fucking delusional. She sobs and babbles and blubbers all kinds of garbage. She's kissed Lisa's ass and bent over backwards to be friends, but Lisa is mean and cruel and stirs the pot and starts fires and...I don't know. It's kind of embarrassing to watch.
Kyle, Camille and Adrienne all squirm awkwardly on the couch. And then it gets really sad. As Lisa stares, baffled by the whole thing, Taylor totally loses it. She says how she's working so hard to better herself and she's "so flawed" and "can't live like this anymore" because Lisa fills her with such anxiety. Oh dear. There's really nothing more depressing than a woman who is so intimidated by another woman that she allows herself to spiral out of control. Taylor clearly cannot deal with what her life has become and Lisa's success and confidence only make it worse. Her offer to help, well intentioned or not, was taken as patronizing. And sure, Lisa is a bitch, but Taylor is so screwed up. I don't even know what Lisa is supposed to do in this situation. Taylor screams that she's just trying to figure out who she is, but it's hard because Lisa makes her feel so bad about herself. Yikes.
At this point Taylor is so pathetic, you have to feel bad for her. But then, she ruins it. Because while she may hate herself (and she clearly does) she's also hungry to take Lisa down. The accusations fly. Taylor claims that Lisa's ego is out of control and everyone thinks so. Camille and Adrienne are silent. Kyle admits that Lisa has an ego, but no one really backs Taylor up. Then again, Taylor's only evidence of Lisa's outrageous ego is that her iPad background is of herself and Giggy. Newsflash to Taylor: you're on a reality show where your lives are filmed and put on national television under the assumption that you're interesting enough for people to care. YOU ALL HAVE BIG EGOS. When Taylor doesn't get the support she wants from the ladies, she storms out. Inexplicably, Dr. Paul Nassif is standing outside the gate, so Taylor unleashes her wrath on him. She insists that everyone talks trash about Lisa (particularly Kyle) and no one will admit it.
Back inside, the women discuss Taylor's meltdown. Lisa wants to know why everyone is concentrating on her relationship with Taylor when they should be concerned about Taylor and Russell. The ladies agree (so do I) and begin trading stories. Camille mentions a time when Taylor visited her in hysterics about Russell, insisting he was leaving her. Then by the end of the visit, she was getting on a G4 with Russell, all smiles. Her manic behavior confuses everyone and they don't know what to think. Kyle offers that it might not be true, or that Taylor is in denial. Lisa is finally first to use the word "abuse," and it's met with an uncomfortable silence. But no one disagrees.
After a bizarre conversation with Paul, Taylor heads back inside for the ultimate confrontation. She's still hell bent on slamming Lisa, but the women are focused on Russell. It's kind of an intervention and Taylor naturally feels attacked. They all voice their concerns vaguely, and Kyle grossly begins every sentence with "I don't know if it's true or not, but..." because she's kind of a gross person. I mean seriously, he hits her. You know it. Stop trying to make everyone like you and support your friend. But she doesn't. In the end, it's Camille fucking Grammer for the win. Out of nowhere, she gets down to business. Nearly in tears, she tells Taylor flat out that they have all been protecting her because her husband beats her. He throws her into walls, he broke her jaw, he hits her. They've all kept it inside, but now she's said it. And maybe it's because her own relationship with Kelsey has pushed her over the edge, but damn. It's about time someone said it.
Kim Zolciak's "Don't Be Tardy For The Wedding" Is Actually A Thing That's Happening In Real Life
So, a while back I posted the news that Kim Zolciak of the Real Housewives of Atlanta was getting her own spin-off series on Bravo. And lo, it's true. Sigh. The series will embarrassingly be called Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding, which is not really all that clever of a title. At least it doesn't have any annoyingly extraneous punctuation in it like Bethenny Getting Married? did. But, then again, it's starring Kim Zolciak, so. There's that.
The show, according to a Bravo press release, will be thirty minutes long and focus on Kim's life leading up to her 11/11/11 wedding to Atlanta Falcons Defensive End Kroy Biermann. Fans can enjoy stupid wastes of time like watching Kim try to lose those last few pounds before the wedding (I'm being really nice here and not saying a word) and find the perfectwig dress. How joyous!
Kim herself says, "I am so excited to give an up close and personal look at the next chapter in my life...My life has turned into a true Cinderella story and to watch the pieces unfold is going to be great! I can't wait to share with all of you!"
Um.
No, really?
A true Cinderella story? Oh, right, it totally is! I love that part in Cinderella where she's the kept woman of a married man! And she gets to live in a mansion? And she has to endure horrible hardships like ridiculously expensive spa treatments, diamond jewelry, luxury cars and cross-country flights to get her hair done. Disney left that out of the kids' movie, but it's totally in the original fairy tale, FYI. Kim knows. She's really well-read.
Seriously, here's the deal: Bethenny Frankel resonates with fans because she's truly worked hard to achieve her place in life. She started out on the Real Housewives of New York City as a single woman, barely scraping by. Now she's a bazillionaire, a wife and a mother. That's why women admire her. They want to be her. That's why her crappy advice books do so well and why she sells out auditoriums to tell the same stories over and over again. Kim Zolciak may have fallen in love (and honestly, that's nice) but it's hard to imagine her connecting with fans in the same way. She's mostly a joke.
Besides, they should have called the series Trash Box, Hooker, Wig if they wanted my support.

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Channel The Dead, Reveal Secrets, Get Botox - You Know, The Norm
Previously on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: a camel. Oh, and some other stuff happened, namely Kim Richards and her secret boyfriend, who has a name and it's Ken. Wouldn't it be fabulous if it was Lisa's husband Ken? Okay no, adultery is not actually fabulous, but it would have been one hell of a twist. It isn't, though. It's this dude, who is more than a little scary looking. I'm just saying, he's not hot. Kim is one hell of a mess, but she could do better.
Anyway, Dr. Paul Nassif is having what he calls Beauty Night, where all the ladies go to his office so he can use them as guinea pigs and test out his latest cosmetic treatments. Um. Maybe I've been watching a little too much American Horror Story, but I don't think that sounds like a good idea. Most of the gals are getting botox, but Kyle Richards wants to deal with her "love handles," which they zoom in on and I still cannot see. This doesn't stop Paul from calling her his "little muffin top" and then referring to her as a turkey he's going to baste. Aren't plastic surgeons supposed to make you feel better about yourself? Sheesh. Meanwhile, Lisa is stopping by but not getting anything done. Not that she's above it, she just doesn't want it done on national television. Smart lady. Taylor, however, is getting injections in her face so that she looks less anorexic. Lisa suggests she try eating, but Taylor prefers injections to icky food.
In a shocking twist of events, Kim is running late. I know! She was packing, which seems to be her go-to excuse lately. Maybe "packing" is code for "getting a fix" now as well as "putting on my makeup." When she gets there, she tells Paul she wants to try lip injections, although she makes sure to clarify that she doesn't want to end up looking like Taylor 'Ducklips' Armstrong. Camille is skipping the entire night altogether because Kelsey Grammer is the world's hugest asshole and filed for full custody of their kids. If I'm not mistaken, he's dropped that since, no? Regardless, what a total dick. Speaking of failed marriages, the late Russell Armstrong keeps emailing Lisa about his relationship with Taylor. They're happier than ever! His business is booming! They are so in love! He doesn't know why people think otherwise! Well, this is awkward to watch. Lisa doesn't understand why he's telling her all of this, but Kyle knows it's because Russell and Taylor believe Lisa is talking to the press about them. Kyle is smart enough to feign ignorance, though.
Speaking of dead people (was that insensitive?) Kyle is holding a séance. Why? Who knows. People in Beverly Hills are fucked up, for real. I wish I was bored and rich enough to do all the stupid shit they do. But anyway, she's holding this séance and everyone has RSVP'd but Kim. Kim (who is also refusing to tell anyone where she is moving) doesn't want to go. She "feels too many things from above" and is afraid something will "go into" her. That's what she said! Oh! Then she tells Kyle, her sister, that a séance is against her religion. Um. Sure thing, crazyface. For someone who's had a secret relationship for a year, she's not very good at lying. As she consults with Paul before her procedure, she reveals that she's taking Trazadone, Lexipro and Topamax. These all serve to fight depression, anxiety and insomnia. They are also very common for newly sober addicts and people with personality disorders, because they act as mood stabilizers and prevent convulsions. Uhhhh. Why the fuck would she admit to this on TV? I mean, why on earth?
Paul thinks this all makes total sense. People on a cocktail like that commonly appear drunk, loopy, out of it - basically, like Kim. He wants to make sure she's not mixing these with alcohol, because that would be highly dangerous. He also recommends seeing a psychiatrist to discuss everything she's taking and advises her against driving. Sound advice. Then again, if she's on mood stabilizers like that, wouldn't she already be seeing a psychiatrist? Uh huh. Kim wants everyone to know she's not drinking. She says this as she literally sways back and forth. But she's not drinking, okay? For a minute, it really seems like Paul is a good doctor, but he's still going to do a bunch of procedures on her. That...doesn't seem like a good idea? I mean, with the chemical injections and the numbing and all? Yuck. The lip injections seem to be really painful and Kim doesn't handle it very well. It's pretty icky to watch, to be honest, and not just because of all the needles. It's just all pretty fucked up.
You know what else is fucked up? This whole Taylor vs Lisa thing. Taylor seems to be so scared and intimidated by Lisa, it's actually sad. She's very upset because apparently she's heard (via Camille, who I guess hasn't entirely retired her Mean Girl Pants after all) that Lisa is telling everyone in town that Taylor has no friends. I know, it's like I'm recapping seventh grade lunch hour. But who cares, it's séance time! Cue spooky music and light your candles, folks. Rebecca the Psychic is checking the room for magnetic energy as the chef makes the traditional pink frosted cupcakes known throughout the ages to aid in contacting the dead. Camille is a bit nervous about the séance, if only because she doesn't have a good track record with psychics and Real Housewives. Kyle thinks it's going to be fine, though, since her psychic isn't crazy. Hey Kyle, you watch your damn mouth! There will be no ill talk of Allison DuBois! She and her electric cigarette remain in my Housewives Top Moments (just after Kelly Bensimon's jelly bean freakout of RHONY season three, if you're curious). I'm going to put it out there: Kyle's séance is boring. See, channeling the beyond is nothing without DuBois. These ladies can all shut up! I love you, Allison! Let's do lunch!
Kim doesn't end up attending because she's packing. Or is she "packing"? Probably both. Kyle pays her a visit and is surprised to see that Kim's basically ready to move - but she still hasn't said where she's moving to. "What's the big secret?" Kyle asks, and Kim finally drops the bomb: she's seeing someone and moving in with him. Kyle guesses correctly that it's the guy Kim brought "to Paris's premiere," which means Hilton of course. Yes, it's Ken, her busted up looking date to the Paris premiere. Kyle doesn't seem to be thrilled at this development. She starts to cry - she thought Kim was moving closer to her, she doesn't know why she'd keep this a secret from her. She's worried about Kim's decisions. Aren't we all? Kyle recognizes that she mothers Kim too much, but she has trouble backing off because she's concerned. Kim just wants Kyle to be happy for her. I want Kim to seek medical attention, and I don't mean lip injections, but I think that's too much to ask. Anyway, we'll have to wait until next week for the Kyle/Ken meet and greet.
Next week looks like a shit storm, by the way. The episode will reveal Russell's abuse and it looks pretty ugly and upsetting. I wonder how Bravo will handle the editing? More importantly, I wonder how Taylor can conscionably allow this to air for her daughter to someday see?
The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills: They Are The 1%
In light of everything going on around the country with Occupy Wall Street, there's really a seedy feeling about watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills lately. I kind of want an episode where a huge gang of young people in V for Vendetta masks come charging at them whilst burning an effigy of Giggy the Pomeranian. Is that too much to ask? Yes? Oh.
This week was all about the lavish lifestyle of the Beverly Hillboobies. In terms of editing, I'm not sure it's the best time to dedicate an entire episode to how over the top their world can be, but then again I suppose that's half the point of the show. I used to think people watched shows like this to vicariously fantasize about living their lives, but now I think there's an edge of superiority that goes into following the Real Housewives, you know? Like, I may not have that money, that mansion, that car, that full closet of velvet doggie coats, that laser facial machine, that decorative cage full of jungle cats - but at least I have my pride. Or maybe that's just what we tell ourselves. Thinky thoughts! Anyways.
Taylor Armstrong's daughter is turning five, so naturally she needs to plan a massive party for
Meanwhile, Kyle Richards is accompanying her mother-in-law for a face lift. Naturally, Dr. Paul Nassif, aka Mr. Adrienne Maloof is doing the job, because he's the best in town and also he only agreed to be on this stupid show to promote his practice. As they turn a lovely older woman into a post-surgical monstrosity, Paul dicks around with his anesthesiologist, who claims to look just like Mark Wahlberg. Unfortunately, he has a surgical mask on, so we can't tell. But it's enough to make Paul showboat around the operating room, leaving a completely bizarre voicemail on Mark Wahlberg's cell about it. I imagine that this scene only takes place so we know that the Maloof-Nassif clan are down with Marky Mark. Yes, but what about the Funky Bunch? After the surgery, Kyle and Mauricio visit their mom and Kyle freaks out, because mom looks scary. Well, yes. Typically right after someone completely rearranges your face, you don't look so great. It's kind of understandable (she does look scary), but also kind of ridiculous - apparently in Beverly Hills, we get tearful post-cosmetic surgery hospital scenes. It's the rich version of the health care crisis.
Finally, in the biggest display of money wasting, we get the engagement party for Lisa Vanderpump's daughter Pandora and her cutie fiance Jason. In their defense, I will say two things. First, what's the point of being a millionaire if you can't do things like spend a ridiculous amount of money on your children? And second, they don't even actually throw the party. It's their long-haired, creepy ass friend Mohamed, who also happens to be Pandora's godfather. So, there's that. Then again, there's a camel. Lisa and Ken present Pandora with a custom diamond necklace ($68,000) and Jason with a watch ($21,700). Then, it's off to Arabian Nights, complete with belly dancers, weird fake tattoo artists, a tent within a living room (I say "living room," but it's really the size of a football field) and a very, very bizarre mermaid woman who keeps flopping around panting, "I'm splashing! I'm splashing!" and it's REALLY WEIRD. I mean, super weird. I don't understand this party, but whatever. There are all these things going on, like how Kyle decides to demonstrate her agility by joining the weird cirque du soleil-ish dancers to do splits on the table. She also lifts her leg up over her shoulder and shimmies. This is apparently not trashy, although I'd like to see Kyle's reaction if Brandi the Slut Pig acted like that at a party.
However, there is always something ugly beneath the glitter and glitz and this week was no exception. In a scene so uncomfortable it was hard to watch, Kyle and her husband join Taylor and Russell for dinner. Yes, this was the first full Russell moment of the season and it's no less weird than I thought it would be. Just watching him and knowing everything that's to come is strange and sad and upsetting. The strain between Taylor and Russell is palpable, especially alongside Kyle and Mauricio, who are clearly very much in love. Russell and Taylor are upset because an article's just been published about their marital problems and both think Lisa is to blame for leaking the story. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but it's very awkward nonetheless. Kyle looks like she wants to bolt as the two of them guzzle wine, avoid touching and casually discuss suing a mutual friend. Yikes.
Meanwhile, Kyle's sister and everyone's favorite bathroom meth user Kim has a secret of her own - in the form of a secret boyfriend! Yes, it's true. Kim Richards has in fact been seeing a mystery man for like, a year and somehow managed to keep it from everyone, including Kyle. In a very staged scene, we get a reveal of their relationship and also his terrifying face. For real, the dude is ugly. Not to be mean, but I'm just saying. He looks like Joe Giudice went through a blender. They met while she was getting the mail on her street ("He was just standing there," she says - was he lurking? Creepy!) and hit it off. Because of her family's insistence on looking out for her mental well being, Kim decided to hide him from the world, only now choosing to "come out" as a non-single. Strange. But Kim seems happy enough, despite the fact that she's convinced Kyle will hate him. Yeah, she probably will. She'll probably hate that Kim kept him a secret even more. Unfortunately, we won't find out until next week.
The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills: Slut Pig Goes To The Spa
Another week, another episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. This week on Rich People Are Stupid, it's all about Adrienne Maloof and her silly, lavish, ridiculous life. For some totally unknown reason, Lisa Vanderpump has arrived at Casa Maloof to teach Adrienne how to cook a chicken. Why? I don't know. Perhaps to give Bernie the Angry Chef some more air time. Remember if you will that he hates Lisa because she said something one time and he wants to be on television? Right. So he's lurking outside the kitchen like an axe murderer while Adrienne wanders helplessly around her kitchen. You can tell she literally never uses it. She's repulsed by the chicken and then cleans it with dish soap, because she's Rich and Not In Touch With Reality. Do we get it? Yes, we do. Great.
Meanwhile, Taylor, Kyle and Dana are having a play date with their children, by which I mean they are all gossiping with their backs to the kids as Taylor's maid babysits. Dana's son must be terribly bored finger painting with two non-Thai speaking idiot girls who don't even understand nuclear fission. Taylor tells the girls about her lunch with Brandi Glanville, aka everyone's favorite Slut Pig. Apparently, Eddie Cibrian's been after her parenting skills and that's why she went psycho when Kyle did the same. Also, she is sad and lonely and has no self esteem, which Taylor can relate to. This makes Kyle see Brandi a little differently, but she still called Kim a meth addict, so they are not about to be BFFs.Speaking of BFFs, Lisa has some psychotically rich buddies. There is some creepy guy with awful long hair and a jail bait gold digger of a girlfriend and he wants to throw Lisa's daughter an engagement party! And not just any engagement party, but Arabian Nights with a camel and shit. Fantastic. He has a 60,000 square foot house and it's ridonkulous. Also ridonkulous? Adrienne. She wants to have a spa day, but why go to a spa when you can build one in your home? Obviously. She's bought all the equipment - a hyrdo facial machine, a tanning booth and a "laser machine," whatever that is. There are also manicurists, massage therapists and estheticians on hand. I straight up didn't know what an esthetician was, but apparently they do facials and stuff. Thanks, Google, for helping me understand rich people. There's also a wait staff and creepy Bernie the Angry Chef to serve pastries, frozen yogurt, gourmet cheese and champagne. Of course. I think they're saving the Soapy Chicken for a more special occasion.
The waiters, as Kyle observes, look like Chip 'N Dale dancers. Total beefcake city. It's kind of amazing. The ladies are all given their "spa clothes," which include flower-adorned wedge flip-flops. Kyle gets a facial while wearing full makeup, jewelry and false eyelashes. Um. That's stupid. If you're going to get a skin care treatment with the machine that cost Adrienne $40,000, take off your damn foundation first. Kim arrives super late, duh, and then she and Kyle sneak out back to play on the trampoline. Considering Adrienne has a $40,00 facial machine, it's kind of a lame looking trampoline, just saying. It's dumb and I think we're supposed to watch it and think about how "fun" Kim is, but I'm mostly thinking about how I want a sandwich. If you're curious, I had one. It was ham and cheese and it gave me the strength to go on.
I'll need it too, because Slut Pig Brandi's just arrived. Now here's the thing: why on earth is she doing this? This is the part of the Real Housewives franchise that literally makes no sense to me - why women voluntarily put themselves in horrible situations with people who do not like them so that they can be on television, make money, whatever. Is it really worth it? I mean, exactly how much do these new girls get paid? Most likely not enough. It's one thing when they are actually already friends and acquaintances, but in this case Brandi just met them. And they were horrible. I just don't understand it. The same question plagued me about Cindy Barshop in last season's Real Housewives of New York City - she was clearly unhappy and clearly did not like her cast mates. Why did she continue? Blah. Anyway, stupid Brandi is back for more stupid public ridicule because I guess she needs cash.
She shows up and obviously, everyone ignores her. Adrienne tells them all about this fancy "light therapy" thing and oh, this is the laser machine! It helps your skin, supposedly. With infared light. That can't be good for you. Brandi avoids everyone for a while and Kim tells us all about how much she doesn't care about Brandi by talking about her consistently for five straight minutes. She doesn't like Brandi, see? Or her mouth, which is dirty. Kim and her wrapping paper shirt do not care, nope! It's like, "Feeding into it is like feeding a plant that you love or like feeding...a piranha." Sure thing, Kim! Then Camille eats crackers, because she literally has no plot line this season. Following her exciting cracker adventure, she dons a thong and gets a spray tan as all the women squeal and giggle at her mostly-naked bod. Camille says something about a large penis and Lisa screams, "Bend over!" as they all cackle. Funny enough, Kyle doesn't seem to be offended by any of this.
Adrienne tells Brandi that she should talk to Kyle. Kyle thinks Brandi should apologize to Kim. So does Adrienne! It's pretty crappy, actually. Kim pretends like she doesn't know what crystal methrole. Quit the show, Brandi! Did anyone see Brandi and Dana on Watch What Happens Live this week? It was completely awkward. No one likes you, Brandi. Walk away. But she does not walk away. She actually apologizes in a pretty gracious and fair way, laying the blame on all of them equally. Kyle pretends that Brandi started everything and argues with her, then acts like she doesn't know what crystal meth is. "What is that, crystal metha- methodone? What is that?" OH MY GOD STOP IT. Everyone's heard of crystal meth. Shut the fuck up, Kyle. I've heard of a lot of things I don't actually do. I'd heard of child molesters and rapists and Tea Party candidates and it's not like I associate with any of that! It's not an admission of guilt to say you've heard of a drug! Agh! Anyway, Kyle and everyone else sort of gang up on Brandi and it's annoying, but kudos to Brandi for refusing to apologize to Kim. She was hostile first, despite how everyone else chooses to remember it.
Not that I'm complaining, but where is Dana? I imagine she's run off to purchase all of the spa equipment Adrienne owns, but more expensive versions imported from the Swiss Alps. Perhaps she's buying actual lasers? I don't know. Brandi cries and cries and eventually leaves, because everyone is a total asshole. Including Adrienne. If this is your friend, how about remotely sticking up for her? Lord. So she leaves and all the ladies talk more shit and...we're right back where we started. But with smoother skin!
When Andy Cohen's Starting Sh*t, You Know There's Trouble At The New Jersey Housewives Reunion
In their weirdest segue ever, we jump right back into the Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion to Caroline Manzo saying she wants to get Teresa Giudice out of her life. Then Andy Cohen is like, "Melissa, your husband Joe Gorga is super horny all the time!" It's...really bizarre? Andy is all, lets lighten it up and whatever and then there's this kind of gross moment where he asks Teresa if she has more sex than her brother. For once, Teresa is on the sanity train and tells Andy she'd rather not think about that. Yeah seriously, Cohen, you're being a creeper. This leads into a moronic montage of "doing it in New Jersey" clips and we have to listen to Joey Gorga talk about the "poison" in him. Again. Sigh.
And then some dumb viewer questions, including more sex questions. Then Caroline says she does not financially support her sons, she only helps them with "stupid stuff" like groceries. Hey, groceries are expensive, yo. I can imagine that between Albie and Chris, that's a hefty bill. Then we get a montage of Caroline being Caroline and "tellin' it like it is!" and shit. Hey, did you know that Caroline Manzo speaks her mind? She does, people. She really does. But hey, at least we got to see footage of Kim G. getting kicked out of Melissa's house again. Always funny. Teresa tries to pull some bizarre "Caroline is evil for not liking Kim G." thing because Chris and Kim's son are besties, even though Teresa has consistently loathed Kim G. for three years. Caroline is basically like, "Are you fucking serious right now?" and Teresa realizes she doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Hey, Andy Cohen digging up the dirt! Apparently, Albie Sr. was fired as a commissioner by the Governor because they had some secret apartment above The Brownstone or something. Scandal! Caroline says some nonsense about not getting a permit, but dude, sketchy. All their husbands are so sketchy with their "real estate" and "construction" businesses. I'm not making any accusations, I'm just saying! (I'm saying they're in the mob) Blah blah blah, Caroline has a big mouth. This conversation is still happening. Caroline does not think her advice is unsolicited. Um, I'm pretty sure it is sometimes. Then Andy asks Teresa if she got unsolicited advice from Caroline and the dumbfounded look on Giudice's face makes it pretty clear she has no idea what that word means.
Then in clearly orchestrated move, Andy asks a "viewer question" of Caroline: how can she be so judgemental of Teresa and Melissa when there are all these rumors about her and Dina? Dun dun dunnnn. Smooth move there, Cohen. Naturally, Caroline hedges dramatically about the falling out with Dina, and we never really get the whole story, but it seems like Caroline believes that Teresa poisoned Dina against her. True or not? Who knows. But it gets pretty ugly between Teresa and Caroline and both of them end up pretty disgusted with each other. Based on Dina's blog (titled "The Truth," in case we didn't get it) it looks like she's definitely on the outs with Caroline and Jacqueline, although I have to be honest. I did not read that entire blog post because that shit is long. Good lord, woman, talk much? This is all pretty interesting, though and it's kind of a bummer because then we go into a discussion of Jacqueline, which...she's not there? Dumb. Even dumber is the following Kathy segment. Andy honestly, no one cares about Kathy.
I think he knows this, because he turns it back on Teresa as soon as he can. "Do you think you sweat the small stuff?" he asks her pointedly, and she obviously says no, and he obviously is like, "Oh hell yes you do." Andy's on the attack! He basically calls her petty and shallow. It's pretty funny. Maybe Andy should permanently replace Jacqueline. Especially if he keeps correcting the way Teresa speaks - she keeps saying she "distant" herself from people, and Andy goes, "Dis-tanced," like she's a four year old. Which she kind of is. Incidentally, on Watch What Happens Live, Andy said he'd received tons of messages about how hard he was on Teresa and the poll of the night asked whether or not he was too hard. The audience said no, but it definitely seems like he's working overtime to get her riled up. Not that I care. I'm a straight up Teresa hater.
You know, this show wouldn't need to be so effing long if they didn't show ten minutes of flashback clips. Hey, remember when Kathy was a bad cousin because she pointed out how Teresa abandoned her baby daughter to participate in a traditional Italian Christening brawl? Good times. Teresa still hates Kathy, FYI. Don't worry, it seems to be mutual. Oh hey, she still hates Melissa, too. Melissa is total crap because she didn't stay at the Giudice's house long enough on Christmas Eve, despite the fact that Joe Giudice was clearly shit talking Melissa like, right in front of her. Oh, he wasn't calling Melissa a "raccoon face," he was saying it about Kathy! Ohhhhh, well that's alright then. Caroline is losing her fucking mind about this, by the way. Simmer down, Manzo, this is why people call you a buttinsky.
Andy is curious, what does Melissa think of all the times Teresa blamed Melissa for her failed relationship with her brother. HmmmTeresa. The only one who's perpetuated it is Teresa. She put it in a cookbook, for fuck's sake. We get it. You're threatened by your sister-in-law.
But is there anything Teresa regrets saying about Melissa, the horrible sprinkle cookie giver and brother stealing copycat? Teresa regrets a lot of things Melissa said. Unfortunately, that was not the question. It's like she's baiting Andy to snap at this point. So, does Teresa regret anything? Teresa is like, "Ummm...uh...uh...why don't you say some stuff and I'll tell you if I regret it?" Seriously. Melissa thinks she should regret saying that she is a gold digger who married Joey for money, but Teresa doesn't seem to regret that one. But have no fear - Melissa has a list! She rattles off a ton of shitty stuff and Teresa seems to pick one at random that she supposedly regrets. It seems about as genuine as her boobs. In turn, does Melissa regret anything? The thing that upset most people was her comment that she and Joey pay their bills and, looking back, that's the worst thing she said. She does not actually say she regrets it, though.
Sixty years of clips, this time centering on Joe vs. Joe. Andy takes issue with the fact that Joe repeatedly uses the word "faggot" and he hammers Teresa pretty hard about it and okay, here's the thing. She says that Joe Gorga and Richard Walkie both use the word as well, which Kathy and Melissa deny. I come from a big ass Italian family and officially call bullshit on that. Unfortunately, with a lot of men there's a disconnect between the word and the meaning of the word, which is of course ignorance and not something to condone. Everyone agrees it's not used with malice against the gay community, but Andy says that he's on a very highly watched television show and they have four young kids - maybe make an effort to tone down the hate speech? Especially in light of all the school bullying and suicides that are taking place. Teresa said she tries. I believe that. I don't think you could get a guy like Juicy Joe to do anything, to be quite honest. Anyway, I think the issue here is that they've made television stars of ignorant, trashy, uneducated people. They either hired them because of this or they made a mistake, but the Giudices will never be enlightened people. Andy, you're the one putting them, ahem, on display for the world to see. Juicy Joe only has an outlet because you gave him one.
But hey, Joe is Joe is Joe. He's a prick and Teresa's okay with that! So there! She's also okay with her daughter Gia's musical debut, which was probably one of the most hilarious, sad and embarrassing moments of the Real Housewives franchise. There ain't no problem with that song! It was beautiful! Caroline comments that it was tragic, a disgrace, and Kathy mentions that perhaps Teresa could have proofread it to prevent that from happening on TV. Nope! Okay then! I think we should watch it again to be sure.
Then everyone talks about family a lot and Caroline recites something she memorized before taping about being there for people and Andy pretends to be sad about their failed friendships. It's all very touching, except not at all. Guess we'll have to wait until season four for anymore NJ dramz. Hopefully, someone gets arrested (fingers crossed for Ashley/ee!) and they all have at least two Twitter/blog meltdowns per week. But until then, here's Kelly Ripa and Mark Consueslos doing some "Dirty Soap" reenactments of the Housewives. Marks's a face made me laugh till I cried a little, just saying.
Melissa Gorga Wears A Fat Suit To Teach Us About Being Fat Or Something
New Jersey Housewife Melissa Gorga hit Times Square this afternoon in a fat suit. I know, that was a really weird sentence, right? After an emotional Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion last night, Melissa didn't waste any time pushing herself back into the limelight by waddling around New York City today in a 400lb body transformation. Now, you're probably asking, "Why the fuck...?' and yeah, pretty much. Apparently, Mrs. "On Display" is working with Entertainment Tonight to expose weight discrimination by wearing an offensively large fat suit and walking around eating hot dogs, waiting for people to be mean to her. Now okay, is weight discrimination real? Most definitely. Is it a little insulting for a 115-pound ex-stripper to go on a poor man's E! News and tell us about it? Kinda.
I guess any attention to the cause is better than nothing, but I can't imagine that Melissa is going to be bringing the hard-hitting journalism here. Based on this teaser from ET, the biggest problem she has is bending over to tie her shoes. She is "literally out of breath." Um. Yeah. I genuinely believe she means well - no seriously, I think Melissa Gorga is actually a little too dumb to understand the social ramifications of a thin, beautiful woman wearing a "fat suit" in order to enlighten us - but man, this is...not her best move. You can watch the ET preview below.

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Think You're A Slut Pig
Brandi Glanville:
- let her son pee on the Maloof lawn
- said a bad word
- looks like a ho in those shorts
- wants you to color her a slut
Kyle Richards:
- really has it in for Brandi
- is in total denial about her sister
- can be very, very mean when she wants to be
Kim Richards:
- is on drugs
- is on drugs
- is on drugs
And so, we are immediately taken back to the worst theme party ever, with Kyle declaring that Brandi is pathetic. Nice opener! I have to say, I was a little boggled by Kyle's behavior last week since it was so over the top. I get that Brandi is kind of trashy (in a lovable way!) but I didn't really understand where all this venom was coming from. Apparently, it all leads back to Brandi's son's penis and how he whipped it out to piss on Adrienne's lawn. Brandi is a bad mother because she didn't scold him. Brandi? She doesn't fucking want you to fucking talk about her fucking kids, okay? Kim is all, "Why do you have to use the F-word?!" like that's worse than repeatedly leaving the room to get a fix. Brandi, bless her heart, really tries to stick up for herself but the wrath of Kyle cannot be stopped. Plus, Brandi's just not very good at words. She says, "Well, I don't think it's a bad thing." Oh dear. Honey, I really do think you're being attacked here, but perhaps "I think it's good for my son to pee on people's property" is not the best line of defense.
Brandi doesn't see how Kyle can criticize her when her own sister is "cracked out of her mind" and went to the bathroom to get high fifty times. Naturally, this doesn't go over well with Kyle, who is understandably protective of her ailing sister but also completely deluded. Kim, meanwhile, defends herself by saying that she hasn't been to the bathroom alone once all night. This is a) a lie and, b) not a very comforting statement from a grown woman. It just keeps getting worse. Brandi is shaking and crying. There's a lot of fuck off's thrown back and forth, and apparently the F-word is alright when Kyle uses it, just saying. Then, Kim calls Brandi trailer park trash and Brandi busts out with the zinger: at least she wasn't in the bathroom doing crystal meth all night. Whoa. I mean, whoa.
Total mayhem. Kyle's on her feet, up in Brandi's face. Brandi is all, "I will fucking kill you," and swats at Kyle's pointing finger. Then Kim is up and it's just, man. This is kind of really embarrassing to watch. Kim and Brandi (who is balancing on her good foot, mind you) have to be separated by an apoplectic Taylor Armstrong. It's kind of telling that Taylor finally flips out at the sight of physical violence. All 45 pounds of her are up in the middle, screaming "No touching!" over and over like she's auditioning for Arrested Development or something. "There will be no touching!" she yells, sounding oddly stronger than she ever has. This is downright depressing. And kind of funny? My emotions are battling. Kim backs off, but not without the best line of the night: "You know what?" she asks Brandi. "You're a slut pig!" Kim Richards, ladies and gentlemen.
Then she is all, "How dare you?" even though I'm pretty sure she's the one who went at Brandi and called her a slut pig, but whatever. God knows how wobbly life is through Kim's eyes. I'm surprised she had the dexterity to point so effectively. Taylor is over it. Camille just looks horrified. Dana, who I pretty much hate more than life itself, pipes in with the helpful, "You guys, we're from Beverly Hills, we do our thang." She really fucking says "thang," too. I double-checked. What a stupid asshole. Then she laughs. She laughs, like she didn't just allow two people to treat someone like dirt in her own house all night. Like she didn't encourage them and laugh along with them. But hey, I guess that's just Dana's thang.
Kyle and Kim leave the room with Taylor and Camille to cool down while poor Brandi gets shafted again by being stuck with Dana. She wants to leave, but if you recall KIM HID HER CRUTCHES AND SHE CAN'T WALK. God, that actually makes me a little mad. I mean, seriously. If you're going to be a bitch, just own it. You don't get to hide someone's crutches and then ask, "How dare you?" like you're a saint. Dana tells Brandi she started it, with "the whole bathroom thing," which just makes me hate her more. Meanwhile, Camille comforts Kim because Brandi called her a meth head. Kim sniffs that she's never had someone insult her like that in her life. Clearly, Kim does not go on the Internet. None of this stops her from calling Brandi a whore again.
Dana finally finds the crutches without acknowledging that someone hid them. Then Brandi unceremoniously crawls out the door while Dana laughs and hugs Kim in front of her and says "I love you" no less than three times. Wow, I have never actually wanted to use the C-word, but it's tempting. She's all, "Oh, Kim! I love you! Let's go on a mental health vacay!" and I want to stab her a lot. Once and Kim both leave, everyone acknowledges how horribly awkward that was, and here's the thing. Was the crystal meth comment a bit much? Yes. It's not really fair of her to name a drug like that within one night of meeting Kim. Then again, Kim is clearly an addict and Brandi is the only one with balls enough to mention it. Sure, it was in anger, but how is that worse than all her friends pretending she's okay? Then again, Brandi clearly has issues. Taylor, of all people, notes that someone who jokes about being a slut so much has deep rooted self esteem issues. Wow, when Taylor Armstrong is making astute observations about your mental health, there is a problem. Meanwhile, Dana tells Kyle that she loves Kim. OH MY GOD WE KNOW. She's ready to go with her "on her journey," whatever the fuck that means. At least everyone on the show recognizes how desperate she is, too. She says to Kyle: "Me, you and your sister, we're always. Forever. That's what we do," even though she met Kim that night. Fucking A.
And that? Is literally eleven minutes into the show. Unfortunately, the rest of the show is pretty boring. Kyle visits with the Game Night absentees Lisa and Adrienne and fills them in on her completely warped point of view. You know, how Brandi was totally rude and called her a bitch with no provocation? Right, that's what happened. Then Kyle actually pretends to not know what crystal meth is. I am getting a little sick of this whole innocent little girl thing she and her sister like to pull. You are a grown woman in Beverly Hills. You grew up in the entertainment industry. Stop acting like you've never been confronted with profanity or drugs before. This is shit I wouldn't have been shocked by in the seventh grade. God. Taylor also has lunch with Brandi and it's very much the kind of lunch that Real Housewives is known for. No food, empty restaurant and staged conversation. Taylor tells Brandi she's basically fucked socially unless she grovels to Kyle. Probably true.
But hey, Kim who is definitely not on crystal meth, tells Kyle that she's been using room deodorizer as breath spray for a week. Then she wears that crazy shirt again! With the bow and the high neck and the gold and the wallpaper print? Oh god, it's like a shirt representation of Kim's brain. Shiny and hideous. Other things happen in this episode. Kim and Kyle discuss the house their mother left them (Kyle bought out her sisters' shares and then wouldn't sell it back to Kim when she was strapped for cash - harsh!) and Lisa hires the Asian Franck Eggelhoffer to plan her daughter's wedding. It all ends at Camille's breast cancer charity event, which of course Brandi goes to. In typical Real Housewives fashion, she's seated at the same table as Kyle, Lisa and Dana. Obviously. Dana naturally buys a real fur stole, because she is endlessly tacky. The day is awkward. Lisa and Kyle act like the cheerleading squad at the cool lunch table. At least Kim wasn't there. She was packing her house up! She's in a good place! She's improving herself, you see? And she's sad that she sunk to Brandi's level! God, this is boring. I honestly don't care about Kim unless she's being crazy, I think. Is that mean? I don't care. Let's just close this out with a slideshow of priceless Taylor expressions, shall we?
There, I feel better.
Rumor Mill: Is Taylor Armstrong Rebounding With Most Eligible Dallas' Matt Nordgren? Really?
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong has been in the news plenty this year for her failing marriage and the subsequent suicide of husband Russell Armstrong. With her emaciated body wasting away each week and endless reports of domestic abuse, Taylor has had a pretty rough time lately. But she seems to be cheering herself up with some Texas lovin' - at least that's what the Internet is saying. And as you know, if it's on the Internet, it must be true.
Dallas society blogger Oh So Cynthia was first to report that Taylor was seen in Dallas getting cozy with Most Eligible Dallas star Matt Nordgren a couple weeks ago. Reps for both Taylor and Matt have squashed these rumors down, saying that Matt was just being nice and welcoming to Taylor as part of the Bravo family. However, reports from onlookers that they were making out soon surfaced and it's said they hired personal security to keep passers by from taking photographs.
Now, this is strange for like, so many reasons. First, the obvious: Taylor's husband hung himself pretty recently. It's still playing out in the press, right? They have a child? Maybe a public reality show romance is not a solid move right now, Taylor. I'm just saying. You deserve to be happy and Russell clearly didn't do that for you, but let's try and use that brain just a little, okay?
Second, there's Matt Nordgren. I'll admit, I didn't watch any of Most Eligible Dallas, but from what I can gather from commericals, the entire season was leading up to Matt and his friend Courtney Kerr finally getting together. And they did! Major kissing and stuff! But on Watch What Happens Live, Courtney and Matt basically said they tried it and it's over now. How anticlimactic! I didn't even watch their burgeoning relationship and I'm disappointed. But now Taylor Armstrong is back in Dallas, on Matt's arm for some swanky charity event. Despite prodding from Andy, Matt denied anything but friendship with Taylor, but Courtney didn't seem too convinced. You can tell she thinks they're hooking up and just won't say anything.
So, is Beverly Hills' Most Damaged finding love with Dallas' Most Indecisive Man? Seems like a recipe for disaster if you ask me. I think Andy needs to organize a crossover event and see how it all goes down. They can bring cows and like, python sunglasses that are made of gold. I hear they make those now, and they're quite expensive.
Real Housewives Of New Jersey Reunion Part 1: A Whirlwind Of Stupid
Hooo-lee crap. That's all I have to say about the Real Housewives of New Jersey lately. After what was mostly a boring season, it really picked up near the end and the finale leads us into a very interesting reunion. First things first, we have a no show when Jacqueline Laurita essentially calls in sick to the whole thing. Can she do that? I mean obviously she can, but wow. I'll bet she got an earful from the producers for that one. Andy Cohen welcomes the remaining four ladies and asks what happened. Dead silence. Yikes. After a few uncomfortable moments, Caroline explains that they are currently filming the fourth season and they had "an incident" the night before which left Jacqueline emotionally wrecked. She "just couldn't come here and look at Teresa" after what happened the previous night. Whoa.
Out of curiosity, I looked at Jacqueline's Twitter today and promptly lost ten minutes of my life reading through her tweets. Jesus, she's vocal. Why hasn't she ever been this vocal on the show!? But my curiosity paid off, because she tweeted that she was skipping the reunion on the same day the whole Melissa stripper scandal went down. I knew it! You have to wonder what else happened that night, because the stripper thing seems to directly involve Melissa in a hurtful way but not Jacqueline. I can obviously see being disgusted with it all, but if Melissa can face her, why couldn't Jacqueline? Burning questions that we cannot yet get answers to. It's weird, because they aren't allowed to discuss any of what's currently happening, but shit is clearly way worse than it was at the end of third season. Like, waaaay worse.
So, remember the cookbook? Of course you do. You'll be glad to know we have confirmation that the sister-in-law comments were indeed about Melissa Gorga. Was anyone on the fence about that? Really? Also, she said that Caroline wasn't Italian, remember? But Caroline doesn't really care about that. She's still outraged at the crack about her son Chris, which Teresa describes as "ha ha funny" or something equally idiotic. Then she just says nonsense. Honestly, it's like nonsense. There's a lot of talk about how long these ladies have been friends (10 years) and how this cookbook was basically the straw that broke the Jersey girl's back. You know, for someone to lose decade-long friendships and most of her extended family, you'd think Teresa would stop acting like such a gigantic asswad.
As with all reunion shows, we have a lot of Big Reveals and the first juicy tidbit we learn goes back to Danielle Staub. Doesn't everything? It also goes back to last season's reunion, when Teresa went completely apeshit on Danielle for saying something about her family. You know, when she shoved Andy Cohen out of the way? Hilarity. Well, apparently she was talking about Melissa's son and how Teresa and Joe didn't go see him when he was born or something. It seems kind of like an overreaction, no? To go at someone like a Sumo wrestler over that? God, Teresa is nuts. This leads into our next Big Reveal, which is that Melissa and Joe signed on to the show without telling Teresa. Yikes. According to Caroline, Teresa had long before turned everyone against Melissa and Kathy, going so far as to tell Caroline and Jacqueline to never compliment Melissa or speak to her on camera at family events. Then: Teresa told Melissa not to do the show because people would make fun of her forehead. Seriously. That's what she said.
Teresa is mad because "both of yous" went on the show without telling her. I'll give it to Teresa, I can see why that would bother her. Then again, she's a life ruining psychotic bitch, so there's that. Andy wants to revisit "The Christening Heard 'Round The World" and okay Cohen, let's not go overboard. Much of the hostility Joey had toward Teresa at the beginning of the season revolved around how Teresa had "changed" once she started doing the show. Melissa reminds her that she had a huge premiere party for the show and they weren't even invited. Teresa's response? If Melissa was a good wife, she would have sees the party notice on Facebook and called Teresa for an invite. Um. That's not how invitations work, Giudice. Hey, Kathy is here! Kathy is pissed that Teresa just called Melissa a bad wife. You tell it, Kathy!
You know, in Melissa's defense, she says that the Christening got really bad because of her husband, not because of Teresa or Joe. This is the difference between Melissa and Teresa and why ultimately, Melissa will continue to win this war. I'm not saying she's not fake, because she definitely can be. But she knows how to play it and she never flies off the handle for minor admittances of guilt. If Teresa could just drop her over-defensive reactions when someone points out a mistake, she'd look a hell of a lot more sane. But alas. Caroline pipes in to add that Teresa never wanted to make up with her brother - that Teresa called him an asshole and said she didn't want to make up. Melissa's jaw drops. Teresa is all, "You're a liar! You're pathetic!" and shit, but Caroline gets that Manzo Zen Master face on and just shakes her head.
Later, after a ridiculously long segment about how illiterate everyone is and about forty clips of "On Display," we get back to the subject at hand: why everyone hates Teresa. Andy reminds Teresa that she called Melissa a gold digger, which she completely denies even though I totally remember that scene. She may not have used the word, but after that montage of Teresa abusing the English language, I don't think she can really make an argument of semantics. Melissa calls her a devil and Teresa says that Melissa is, because she's wearing red. So nyah, nyah, Melissa! I know you are, but what am I? Sheesh.
But wait, Teresa's not all bad! Remember how her husband is a huge criminal and Teresa is writing slanderous cookbooks to repay their debts? Good times! What a saint, she is! So they owe a lot of money, right? Because Juicy Joe is a crook? But Teresa stands by her man unlike those crazy Jews who only stay with their husbands if there's enough money involved. Teresa would like everyone to know that she "loves Jewish people," which I'm sure makes it all better. Then we get into the Giudices' money problems and how Teresa is clearly cutting back, because Gia wanted both an iPod Touch and an iPhone for Christmas and she only got the iPod Touch. Um. They are the same price? I mean, I know one doesn't have a monthly bill attached, but honestly? Apparently now, Gia does have an iPhone, by the way, so obviously Teresa and Joe are teaching their daughters that extreme excess is wrong. It's not like that's what got them into this in the first place or anything. Nope. Then Teresa gets pissed because Kathy and Melissa said they admire her strength, or something.
There is definitely not enough bloodshed in this finale, I'm just saying. But you know what makes it worth it? Andy Cohen. Because if no one else is going to go at Teresa's throat, by golly he'll do it. He questions whether or not she and Joe would have gone to jail if they hadn't declared bankruptcy fraud, which she denies. He asks how much they owe ($8 million) and how long they have to pay it back. Teresa is like, "Eh, I dunno?" Andy: "You might want to look into that." Ha! When Teresa says that the bank believed she owned an original Picasso worth $50,000, Andy is like honey, an original Picasso would be like $50 million, and Juicy Joe wouldn't be able to afford it anyway. Tell it, sister Cohen! At the end of the show, he discusses the most recent charges against Joe, which include fraud, fraud and more fraud. Andy pushes, trying to get her to comment and Teresa is like, I don't fucking know Andy, call my fucking lawyer. Yeesh. When Caroline looks visibly perplexed, Andy asks her what's up. She's quizzical over all this fraud nonsense, she says. But before she can go on, Teresa of course interrupts her and tells her to shut up. Caroline tries and tries, but Teresa won't let her talk. When she finally gets it out, Andy points out to Teresa that Caroline was merely saying she wants to stay out of it. "Good, that's what she should say!" says Teresa the moron and OH MY GOD, SHE WAS TRYING BUT YOU WOULDN'T LET HER. Caroline says she feels like she's in "a whirlwind of stupid" and I hear ya, Mrs. Manzo. Good lord.
Next week: part two, more of Teresa vs. Caroline, plus some bonus gossip about Dina Manzo. Bring it, baby!
