Cancer Schmancer, Says Bethenny Frankel

Whole Foods, that overpriced “all natural” store full of vegan douchebag college students who judge you when you walk in, like you might be scoping out the aisles for some Cheetos or something, has decided to pull Bethenny Frankel’s “Skinnygirl Margarita” from their shelves.

Though the former Real Housewives of New York star says this is a margarita “you can trust” with “all natural ingredients” (according to her official website, anyway) studies have now shown that the Skinnygirl product contains the preservative sodium benzoate, which can become carcinogenic when mixed with other substances like vitamin C.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I like Whole Foods, in the sense that it is a store that sells a lot of great, organic products. It’s vegan and vegetarian friendly, which might not be too exciting if I lived in California, but I live in downtown Miami. Not a whole lot of natural anything going on down here, if you know what I mean (I mean tits).  So yes, I like the store. I just think the people who run it, and work in it, are generally douches. It’s not “all natural” to not bathe, you know? Stop bagging my groceries, you hippie.

(In all fairness, I would get more of my food there if it was more affordable. They’re just too easy to make fun of, aren’t they?)

Bethenny’s response to these allegations was typical Bethenny. In a statement to Access Hollywood, she said, “I'm not making wheatgrass here. If I could put an agave plant and some limes on a shelf I would. [The Skinnygirl Margarita] is as close to nature as possible, while still being a shelf-stable product.”

A statement from Whole Foods detailed that the Skinnygirl Margarita was only offered in 16 of Whole Foods' 310 stores. Frankel, who sold the drink line this year for a reported $120 million, obviously doesn’t give a flying shit. I mean, 16 Whole Foods stores? Boo hoo.  She might have to file for welfare now, my goodness.

I am a Bethenny fan, but not a big margarita drinker, though I’ve heard the drink is quite good. She also just launched the Skinnygirl Sangria, which I might be more likely to try, sodium benzowhatever or not. I mean hell, everything can give you cancer, right?
