This week is the special presentation of Rachel's new fashion line to all the most specialest high end buyers and fashion editors. Mainly, the entire episode revolves around this stressful event, which of course goes well and everybody loves it and you now can buy your very own tweed coats and weird frock things designed by The Zoe at your local Neiman Marcus. It's all very exciting, yay, no one cares.
The real heart of the episode, to me, is the quickly growing rivalry between new Junior Stylist Jeremiah and the hair and makeup expert we all know and love, Joey. See, The Zoe needs Joey in her life. Rachel is very fragile. There aren't a lot of people left who she can really trust. There's also the issue of no one really knowing what Jeremiah does. He goes to buy jewelry for the show, which everyone likes but no one uses. Rachel forgets he is there approximately four times. Jeremiah seems...lost. On the plus side, he is fucking adorable and has immaculate abs. Joey, on the other hand, knows the business. He knows fashion. He knows Rachel. And most importantly, she can trust him like, to understand what pink-gold is when it's time to appropriately accessorize. And also not to steal her business and shit.
And so the Thunderdome begins: Rodger invites Joey to move out to California. He even offers up his car. Joey meets with Jeremiah for a mildly threatening "I just hope it all goes well with you and Rachel" meal, where he's twirling his invisible mustache. Joey doesn't actually have a mustache because being a New York hipster is so H&M last season. Jeremiah is somewhat terrified. He and Joey are wearing the same outfit - literally the same. Burgundy sweater, black and white striped shirt. How embarrassing! What does it all mean?! Are they soul mates? Or are they rivals, each hoping to be Rachel's most trusted and loyal gay? Only time will tell.
