Start Gathering Footage For The Kings Of Leon Behind The Music

Less than two weeks after Amy Winehouse’s tragic, but completely unsurprising death, it looks like we have another great musical talent headed down the road to self-destruction.

Kings of Leon front man Caleb Followill is – reportedly – in need of some rehab. In just a few short days, this unfolding story has gone from the typical “exhaustion” excuse to full blown alcoholism. After abruptly walking off stage in Dallas to puke (seriously, he said that) and never coming back, things were not looking good for the “Sex on Fire” stars.  Now, considering the stage lights, the hard life on the road and the record-breaking heat waves, this could actually have been dehydration or exhaustion. It’s understandable, right? Shit outside? It’s hot.

But yesterday, Kings of Leon cancelled their entire U.S. tour. A rep stated, “We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are canceling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion. The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break. Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band's international tour schedule.”

Hmm.  Not too fishy, until you start checking out the bassist Jared Followill's Twitter account. Right after their Dallas walk-off, Jared tweeted, “Dallas, I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am. There are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed. No words ... I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade."

Well then. Reports are now coming out from every direction re: Caleb’s out of control drinking and a push from the band to get him into rehab.  While the official statement still states “exhaustion,” we all know that either means drugs, booze, anorexia or he has a secret baby and needs to lay low. Either way, it really seems like Caleb Followill could use somebody right about now. See what I did there? Eh?
