Why sink like the Titanic Films

Any movie less than forty minutes to be classified as a short film. A span of attention of the audience, however, in film festivals to test if shorts run more than twenty minutes. Why so many white shorts? Two reasons, first bad audio. You should not strain to hear actors talk. The second reason lies in the history or the lack thereof. A key element of why films like the Titanic sinking.

Narrator voice-over

If you look around with a narrator's voice throughout the call "trap." This device has the story instead of letting the plot develop. Directors inexperienced in the art of writing scripts that write their own scripts for short films often take this route. The burden of history falls upon the narrator. That leaves the banal exchange of dialogue between the characters.

Untrained actors

Recite line runs amok in the shorts. Untrained actors give performances suffocated. Without the organic delivery of lines, the dialogue sounds shallow. Managers complain that you can not find good talent in which they live. The excuses do not cover yet the fact the film looks and sounds unprofessional.

Dialogue poor

Even a trained actor can get away from a screenplay written little short. However, the bad acting combined with poor dialogue equals disaster. A good story reveals conflicts through dialogue and actions of the character. However, many shorts full of exposure within the lines of the actor.

Poor stimulation

Shorts do not have the luxury of time. If a short takes a minute to create vaccines and the opening credits appear, then failed. The public yawns of boredom. Establish the reasons for the main character in the first two minutes. Set the conflict within the first three minutes. That will catapult the story in the second act for four minutes. Time is of the essence.

Predictability

End of the world stories, teens in the woods of terror or someone dies in a drama. Ideas for short films must conceptualize a new angle. End of world history where women just to survive. Replace the teenagers in the woods with characters that have environmental degrees. Replace the near-death dramas in a world where death does not exist. Think outside the box.

Conclusion

Shorts must draw your attention to the first minute. Good stories reveals the character. Fast pace, strong character interaction and a rallying point contributes to a good movie. Aspiring filmmakers put out as a set of shorts rather than a boat. As a member of the audience, must sift through the chaff to find wheat. However, the good grain of rare films.
