Rick Perry not out
I saw the Republican debate last night and saw the train wreck than 50 seconds, Rick Perry, with experience that had a moment of brain freeze. It was difficult to see and I thought to myself, how difficult it would be in that situation and only block. It's like that nightmare where you are trapped in a crowd of PJ or worse.
The next morning, many of the experts had been suggesting that it was through Rick Perry and was not the right person to become the Republican candidate. Many people in that kind of pressure that they have called it quits. But Mr. Perry. The sample was in the morning, laughed at himself for his hook and proceeded to the position of the need for the substance on the ability to speak.
While this is a difficult stretch for him to return to improved poll numbers. He did two things that business people can learn.
1) Do not give up and
2) Tired of turning lemons into lemonade.
Rick Perry did not stop
This would have been a simple thing to do. Rather than continue to face scrutiny from the media and the general public may have to fill in. No one would have blamed him, had an uncomfortable night and many days before the debate hard. But he thinks he can win! That's a powerful thing and something that every entrepreneur can learn.
This does not mean that there are times when it is best to fold the tent. But just because things are not going his way and it's getting tough out there, does not mean it's time to throw in the towel. As an entrepreneur, it is worthwhile to step back from time to time, evaluate your position and determine what can and should try to do to improve things.
Business are difficult times, this is what defines a true entrepreneur with a vision. They think of the prize and are willing to put obstacles in the way. From time to time the shots are quite severe, but strong business owner, you never forget the main reason he got into the business in the first place.
Rick Perry made the best of a bad condition
While there is a simple recovery of bad speech, Mr. Perry, he found a way to give a constructive spin on the situation and re-focused his message on his leadership as attached to their in-ability to speak well. Do not get me wrong, it's about being a champion Perry, I'm not stated, but I have admiration for his calm determination and focus throughout a difficult time.
What he did to stay focused on the optimistic message is also a great lesson for an entrepreneur. Let's face it, as business owners are going to get beat from time to time by our competition. We will have errors in everything from product development to customer service. The question is not whether we are going to have problems, what we do with them.
We can all learn a lesson from Rick Perry. No matter what you think of him as a candidate, has been shown that there is value to rise above the mistakes we make and use them to improve. We have also learned from him to give up because things are not going well is not the answer. Therefore, I do not know if Mr. Perry can win, but I know that life is a winner as a result of his attitude and that will be very useful as it can for a true entrepreneur.
