Simon Cowell House

Record producer. Born Simon Phillip Cowell on October 7, 1959 in London, England. His father, Eric Philip Cowell, was an estate agent developer and music industry executive. His mother, Julie Brett, was a former ballet dancer and socialite.

Cowell attended school at Dover College. He floated in and out of jobs, sabotaging several interviews for jobs set up by his father. He finally landed a job at his father's company as a mailroom clerk at EMI Music Publishing. He managed to earn a position as an assistant to an A&R executive at EMI in 1979, where he was promoted and given the job of talent scout. Cowell left EMI during the early 1980s to form E&S Music with his boss at EMI, Ellis Rich.

He bought the property for £8.2million four years ago but razed the original structure and has rebuilt a two-storey modern home to his specifications.

The mansion has 24ft tall windows in the living rooms with sweeping views over Los Angeles. Neighbours include Tom Cruise, Madonna, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and David Beckhams.

Still good friends Cowell and former girlfriend Terri Seymour before they split up in November Cowell said recently I've been involved in every aspect of the design of the new place, right down to the doorknobs. I have other houses but this is my dream home.’

The property has been designed to allow Cowell, who has admitted having Botox injections and has been spotted wearing shoes with built-up heels, to perfect his image.

There is a state-of-the-art gym in the basement, a luxury spa complete with wet steam room, a lap pool and the solarium.

A sweeping Dynasty-style marble staircase leads to the upper level of the house and five bedrooms, all with built-in closets and en-suite bathrooms.

There is also a library next to a ‘gallery’ where Simon plans to hang his gold and platinum records and awards. He also has a custom-made media room with a marble bar area and plush leather seating for 20 in a private cinema.




His pad, located in the celebrity haven of Beverly Hills, has its own private movie theater with black leather seats, and a the pool cabana, beside the large outdoor rectangular pool sound system which cost nearly $33,000 has a retractable roof, wet bar and changing rooms and there is a putting green at the rear of the property. The pool is also adorned with palm trees and blazing “turrets of fire” which light up at the sides.

His main UK property is a £7.5million house in London’s upmarket Holland Park.
