Kayne West House

Hip-hop artist Kanye West's Hollywood Hills home is for sale and from the look of it, West took a page from Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch. That, or, Pee Wee Herman was hired to decorate the hip-hop artist's home.

Rapper, record producer and singer. Kanye Omari West was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 8, 1977. His parents divorced when he was three. He was raised on Chicago's South Side by his mother, an English professor, and spent summers with his father, an award-winning photographer who became a church counselor.

West graduated from Polaris High School and completed one year of art school at Chicago State University. After spending time rapping and working with local artists, West moved to New York in 2001 to pursue his music career full time. Respected rapper Jay-Z hired him to produce songs for his album The Blueprint, which sold more than 420,000 copies in the first week alone. West went on to produce for a handful of stars including rapper Ludacris and singer Beyonce.

Did you know that Kayne West Has a metal plate in his chin from near fatal car accident in which he was involved in around 3 pm on October 23, 2002. He was driving home from a studio session and fell asleep behind the steering wheel and crashed into another car.

He also nominated for 10 Grammies in 2005. and ended up winning 3.

I saw the inside of his house and I just can’t fault the guy. For someone who talks smack constantly about how superior he is you would expect his house to reflect his extreme wealth.

His house is a 4,200-square-foot three level. It was full of details found in high end homes like a big black granite fireplace and granite throughout. Kanye had all that gutted and redone and had walls blown out to achieve a big serene space without unnecessary details.

Alas, no pool, but there is a theater. And of course no hip-hop artist can live without a large dressing room and West doesn't disappoint.

The large windows offer up some excellent sweeping city viewage, as 7882 Fareholm Drive is located on a hill above Los Angeles, allowing for plenty of privacy and temper-tantrum space.

In West's three-tier modern house at the foot of the Hollywood Hills, luxury is the first thing you see. A pile of Louis Vuitton trunks greets guests inside the foyer; a waist-high neon-green Marc Newson Dom PĂ©rignon bottle sits in his office. Lush cashmere drapes line the windows overlooking Hollywood Boulevard. And a Crestron system allows West to control Bill Gates–style the house's climate, lighting, and music from any computer in the world.

West is a master juxtaposer. His hypercolor, David LaChappelle-esque Pop Art aesthetic produces the measured contrasts that fans enjoy in his music. Besides post-modern plastic furniture, there's a fresco on the dining room ceiling that contradicts the earth-toned minimalism of the overall space.

Of course Kanye hired an interior designer, but he picked someone who would execute his vision, and the results are incredible. It turns out he studied fine art in his hometown of Chicago at the American Academy of Art. I hope this doesn’t mean I have to like the guy, but his house is impressive.

West has art by Andy Warhol, Burton Morris, and Takishi Murakami, who has collaborated with West on his videos and designed some of his cover art. The chair that looks like a bunch of stuffed animals is by Fernando and Humberto Campana, and I’ve seen their furniture in a few modern art galleries.
