David and Victoria Beckham welcomed their fourth child - and first daughter - into the world yesterday.David announced on his Facebook, "I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx."
While Harper is definitely not as common as, say, Jennifer, it's not nearly as strange as some celebrity baby names (I'm looking at you, Mariah!). But what struck me, and I know I'm not alone, is that I seem to remember George Costanza
staking claim on the name Seven back in 1996. So, if you're looking to criticize the Beckhams for naming a child after a number (even David's own jersey number) think about George Costanza's personal endorsement. As he says, Seven is a beautiful name for a boy or a girl - but especially a girl. And you can't argue with the founder of Vandelay Industries.
