Kate Middleton might have been inspired by the gown worn by another Royal Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly. Fifty five years ago in April 1956 Grace Kelly married to Prince of Monaco Rainier III and in that wedding Kelly wore a gown almost same to the gown Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton wears on the nuptial. Both women highlighted their waistlines with a tight waist and billowing skirt with long train. Both brides wore embroidered veils. Their decolletee was uniquely highlighted with a v-shaped neckline and full-length sleeves of elegant white lace.

Kelly's confection was designed by famed Hollywood cosume designer Helen Rose.  Kate's one was designed by Sarah Burton, a creative director of Alexander McQueen.

Though and if Kate Middleton borrowed the design from the Queen, it has it's new and modern look also to be widely copied like the Queen's. The new Duchess' gown has low v-neckline gave the new princess a more modern feel. And she isn't the only one to have take fashion inspiration from Kelly—Ivanka Trump wore a Kelly-inspired dress designed by Vera Wang to her 2009 wedding to Jared Kushner. Also it should be kept in mind that the days have changed and new technologies that have been in vogue can make a great difference and a srutinising look can find all this out.

'Prom' features a group of teenagers gearing up for the big dance -- only this time, that doesn't mean a choreographed musical number. This new movie is produced by Disney. The main stars are Aimee Teegarden in the role of Nova Prescott, Jonathan Keltz as Brandon, Nicolas Braun as Lloyd and new comer but promising Thomas McDonell as Jesse Richter, an archtypical "bad boy".

In this Disney’s high school dramedy 'Prom,' director Joe Nussbaum follows several intersecting stories replete with all the twisting  emotions that the high schoolers face along the way. 'Friday Night Lights' hottie Aimee Teegarden stars as Nova, the class president and prom committee chair, as she attempts to ensure the night goes off without a hitch. But as the elaborate prom-posals mount, Nova's still waiting for Brandon (Jonathan Keltz), her perfect guy -- or so she thinks -- to ask her to the dance. And then there's Lloyd (Nicholas Braun), who goes all out trying to find a date, despite having barely talked to any of the girls he asks.

Thomas McDonell who ( he said ) began pursuing acting as "an experiment" and who will next appear in Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows," plays an archetypal bad boy straight out of a John Hughes flick — sensitive, rebellious, and enticingly misunderstood. In the film, though an outsider, he gets somewhat forced to form a friendship/relationship with 'Friday Night Lights' star Aimee Teegarden's character, Nova Prescott. Unlike the theaters the story certainly hit the box and Aimee  will be hottie again like Friday Night Lights"

The Royal Wedding – William and Kate tie the knot.

In what was a rather lovely and flawless ceremony, Prince William and Kate Middleton were married this morning at Westminster Abbey in London. They were declared man and wife at 11.21hrs. Looking at the wedding chart we have a full 10th house with naturally the royal Sun sitting in the house of duty and authority and Leo sitting on the Ascendant square to the Sun reflecting the pomp and ceremony and privilege they will have. The main feature of the chart is a heavyweight t-square based around a progressive forward thinking Aries Midheaven.  On the IC just in the 3rd house lies Saturn, giving a serious edge to the day and the union, they will think carefully about their union and also about any words and media and social commitments that they make, very much a legacy hanging over from William’s mother Diana who courted and as a result was pursued endlessly by the press. Saturn is opposite Mercury in the 10th house; this is a couple who will be very conscious of their image as future King and Queen. As Mercury is in Aries, this vision is progressive and fresh will push forward I believe a new informality to the Royal family while respecting the traditions of the past.

Alongside the Sun and Mercury is Mars and Jupiter. Finally we find Neptune, peregrine in the 8th house of change and inheritance. William and Kate will in time inherit the dream and the mystique and magic of the monarchy. Neptune will dominate the chart standing alone in Pisces. This is a very spiritual position and reflective of service. This is the overriding theme of the chart, service through the privileged position that they inherit.

Now the all important question, what does the future hold? Well by Solar Arc we have Saturn opposing the Midheaven in exactly one year which is quite sorrowful, maybe a loss in their extended family of some sort. However with Venus exactly three degrees from the Midheaven I can see a happy event in around three years time -  a baby perhaps?? The t-square will be activated by Pluto in 2015 when transiting Pluto squares the Midheaven in 2015. The marriage and their public face will be transformed in some way, possible moving up the line of succession?

The wedding chart in my eyes has all the hallmarks of a successful royal marriage with pomp and circumstance, duty and service, mystique and magic and the notion of an ideal with Mercury conjunct Venus at the Midheaven of how the Monarchy should look when they succeed to the throne.

Academy Award 2011 winning Black Swan star Natalie Portman plays the big budget Marvel studio adaptation of "Thor". She says that the story depicts the way women's roles have changed since 1960s. Natalie plays the role of Jane Foster, a scientist, it is hoped that she could become a superhero by this role and film. The filmmakers made some changes to her character for the sake of studio adaptation. “Jane in the comic books is a nurse, and now she's an astrophysics doctoral candidate,” Portman said. “Things have been 

updated. Women can be scientists in different ways now.” “Thor” stars Chris Hemsworth as the ostensible character of the thunder god of myth who has been exiled to Earth by his father, Odin. On Earth, he meets up with Foster. “She has some family things that echo Thor's familial situation, so that there's that sort of a bond between them,” Portman said. “Obviously, they have a common quest because he's trying to get back home, and her whole interest of study is these connections between dimensions.”

The film was directed by Kenneth Branagh and both he and Portman wanted to make Foster's character believable as scientist. “Ken and I talked a lot before we started about how to make Jane like a realistic scientist on screen, not just make her someone like the Denise Richards in Bond with the glasses and so she's a scientist,” Portman said. “But we talked about how real scientists are kind of like artists. They're able to imagine things that aren't there.”

Natalie is in New York now, so squeamish deli customers on the East Coast better keep an eye out for this unabashed pickle and ketchup addict.

On the other hand her father, renowned fertility specialist and medical director of the In Vitro Fertilization Program at the Center for Human Reproduction, which sort of makes him famous in his own right, Dr. Avner Hershlag is publishing his own book "Misconception".
It's a fertility thriller and in it it is believed that lots of   information of Natalie Portman's pregnancy will be revealed.

Hollywood funnyman and famous "Musk" ster Jim Carrey surprised and kept the drinkers think for sometimes at the bar of New York hotel on April 22, 2011. He wore a full scuba-diving suit to a party by his pal artist A.J. Fusco, which was held at the Gramercy Park Hotel’s Rose Bar in New York. This comedy master put on goggles, a wetsuit complete with oxygen tank and breathing apparatus much to the amusement of the other guests. The event had an underwater theme and Jim decided to go all out with his costume. “My friends and I were there for an aquatic-theme party, and everybody in the place thought it was hilarious, so what's your problem?” he told the New York Post via his representative. His outfit also came to party holding various sets of shark teeth and handed them to the staff to fix them on each table during the event.

Now on to last night’s episode….a recap of Cycle 16!!!  Apparently we will finally get to go to Morocco next week!  Here are my favourite moments from last night’s episode:

ARRIVING AT THE LOFT:  I loved the trickery of having the chosen girls get ‘sent home’ and then Tyra announcing to them that they were home!  When she dropped the cloth to reveal the apartment I particularly got a kick out of the whole gaggle of girls running through the place and screaming with excitement. I’ve decided I’m going to try that at home tonight and see if anyone looks at me funny…I’ll let you know how that goes!

PAPER BAG RUNWAY: Loved the imitation dresses that they fashioned out of paper bags…I would have gone with toilet paper myself…more pliable!  Was anyone surprised by Dominique’s bang on imitation of Miss J and Mr. Jay?   If she had shown that much spunk and personality during her photo shoots, she might have lasted a little bit longer! 

BUBBLE RUNWAY CHALLENGE:  I think this was my favourite challenge so far…I don’t think I have ever laughed as hard as when I was watching Ondrei and Dominique repeatedly fall and try to get up without much success.  I have to give Dominique kudos for finally standing up and trying to strike a pose at the end.  If you’re going to fall and get up, do it with attitude!

JACLYN’S 20^th BIRTHDAY: So my darling Jaclyn turned 20 while on the show and ‘became a woman’!!!  I can’t imagine what that means to someone as sweet and innocent as she is.  I remember turning 20….it was only last year!  ;)

MONIQUE’S ALLURE, ACCORDING TO HER:  You have to love Monique’s confidence as she talked about how she ‘doesn’t know how not to be sexy’ and how ‘having a booty is just kind of stressful’!  Having my booty is stressful, but not for the same reasons Monique has!  Must be hard to be so beautiful! 

KASIA’S PERFECT SKIN:  At the ripe old age of 26, Kasia is the eldest in the competition, but has a perpetual baby face and the most perfect skin ever!  I am totally jealous, but also a good study, so here comes her formula for beauty:

-         Exfoliate

-         Drink lots of water

-         Eye cream

-         Vitamin E

-         Serum

Get it?  Got it? Good!

ALEXANDRIA’S MAD RAPPING SKILLZ:  “I’m not a chump, I’m a champ!!!”  Need we say more?

PHOTOSHOOT WITH THE JAGUAR:  So after seeing this shoot, I suddenly wanted a jaguar, but considering I have other pets, I didn’t want them to be eaten.  I loved how Monique said, “I’m not really a cat person, but it’s not a cat, it’s a J-A-G-U-E-Y-E-R….”

SWEAR JAR:  Jaclyn collected mass amounts of change every time a girl swore, which was often.  According to her, there were a lot of ‘potty mouths’ around. 

WHAT KIND OF WALLET?:  Jaclyn spoke with Miss J about wanting to find a man and Miss J asked her what kind of wallet this mystery man should have.  Jaclyn smiled innocently and said ‘a leather one’.  Enough said.

The true identity of Mona Lisa and her enigmatic smile have intrigued art lovers around the world and still it is prompting lots of people to think and work to find out the fact behind disposition of her mind at the time of painting. 

Recently a group of archaeologists have begun their hunt for the remains of the woman believed to have been the model for Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Their intention is to unearth the secret and mystery still undiscovered by the historians. An special radar device has been introduced on a old decaying Saint Orsola convent in Florence by a team of expert where they hope will find the body of the woman who modeled for da Vinci back in the 16th century is buried. They hope to gather enough skull fragments to be able to reconstruct her face to determine if she was the inspiration for the portrait. Natalia Guicciardini Strozzi, called princess who is an actress and winemaker and also a member of one of Florence's oldest noble families, said that she should be left in peace and searching for and exhuming the remains of Lisa Gherardini was "a sacrilegious act". "Let her rest in peace. What could finding her remains change to the charm of Leonardo's painting? To look for her bones seems a sacrilege to me," she added. "What difference would finding her remains make to the allure of Leonardo's painting?

But despite all these opposition the researchers go on their expedition and if they find the scull, they will be able to reconstruct her face and compare it with the painting. The real Mona Lisa, Italian art historians say, was Lisa Gherardini, the wife of a rich Florentine silk merchant named Francesco del Giocondo who is thought to have commissioned the portrait. According to Louvre museum the portrait was likely to be painted between 1503 and 1506 in Florence marking an important family event.

Researchers say Gherardini spent the last years of her life at the convent, looked after by her two daughters who were nuns, and was buried there. If the researchers find the remains of a woman of about Gherardini's age - she was 63 when she died in 1542 - they plan to extract DNA from the bones and compare it with that of her children.

Silvano Vinceti, the team leader of the researchers, claims that he has been successful to detect the secret codes of eyes of Mona Lisa and hopes to reveal something more if his team is able to reconstruct her face using all modern technologies and then the world will know something  more surprising.

Citizenship Award. Now I am all for second
chances and am certainly glad that he has in
so many ways changed his ways, but the
Citizenship Award? REALLY? Is this the same
guy that helped his sister defraud the welfare
system out of thousands of dollars while all
the while she was getting substantial amounts
of my from her brother Ron?, and is this the
same dude that tells a story where he may or
may not have killed an individual by stabbing
him with the broken off leg of a table in a
schoolyard in Queens growing up?, and You thought
I was gonna mention Pistons Pacers incident,
didn't you? I'm just saying.

The NBA is so much fun that perhaps we'll do one
more. Remember the Decision?, Ha! who doesn't?
well it looks like that the money raised from
that fiasco, and no I don't mean LeBron's contract,
I mean the money raised from the ESPN special,
was actually put to good use, and about 60
Boy's and Girls clubs across the country will
benefit from this. Heck why should comedians and
sports talkies get all the fun.

OK, now football.So Peyton Hillis is on the
cover of Madden 2012, WHY? Seriously, why?
So they can ensure this guy will follow the
trend make sure that he ends his season early
with and injury or mishap, like so many past
honorees have? The way this guy runs he is
a lock to get injured or not finish the full
season anyway. Let's be fair he is no better
than Mark Van Eeghan (one of my very favorites
by the way) was in the 70's, and they never
would have put Van Eeghan on the cover of
Madden any year, and Madden was his coach!
And oh yeah, he beat out Michael Vick for this
honor. This I can only believe is due in large
part to the deep pockets of Andy Reid??? Hmmm,
Maybe there isn't going to be football this
year after all.

In Europe this is also called football, so let's
roll with it shall we? The other day Dutch
Football(Soccer) Club VVV-Venlo signed 1 year
old Baerke van der Meij to a contract, yes they
signed a one year old to a contract. Now this
was seen as a publicity stunt, and it was, and
they didn't deny it either. BUT below is a video
of this kid taking shots on "Goal", and even
though the contract was more honorary than real,
I'm not sure sure they shouldn't lock him up to
a futures deal anyway. Check It Out !!!!!

"American Gangster" and "A Beautiful Mind" hollywood superster Russell Crowe is going to venture a new genre of film, "Directing". This Oscar-winning actor also star in the same movie. The drama of the thriller "77" connects two stories from 1974, dealing with an unsolved murder of a Los Angeles Police District (LAPD)officer and a shootout between Symbionese Liberation Army and the LAPD in South Centran Los Angeles.

According to Deadline, the story involves "the unsolved murder of an LAPD officer, and the nationally televised shootout in South Central L.A. between the Symbionese Liberation Army and the LAPD, where 50,000 rounds of gunfire were exchanged. The events will be seen through the eyes of two police partners, one black and one white." The story is written by L.A. Confidential writer James Ellroy.

It is not the first time Russell Crowe has planned to direct. He nearly a decade ago tried to do that in a film called The Long Green Shore, a story about World War II, but later gave up. This time perhaps the stimulation comes from elsewhere and we hope something exceptional will comes out of it.

Barack Obama – President gives surprise decision to publish birth details

President Obama’s birth certificate was published by the White House today to allay fears by some Republicans, in Particular Donald Trump that he was actually born outside the US. The situation astrologically was caused by Neptune in the past couple of months being square to Barack’s natal Midheaven. Neptune has been transiting through Barack’s first house of personal identity causing confusion (Neptune) about his public position (Midheaven). Obama shocked people with this act and looking at the chart, transiting Uranus is trine to his natal Mercury and his Midheaven bringing unexpected (Uranus) news (Mercury) about his right to do his job (Midheaven). By looking at extended house rulership, Uranus rules the chart and his projection to the world with Aquarius on his ascendant. Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo which on the 5th and 8th house cusps. This was a carefully assessed risk (5th house) to expose his origins (1st house) in order to change other peoples views (8th house).

Alternative Fashion Anyone?

Good Morning Fashionistas!

I am back from a night at FAT (Fashion. Art. Toronto.)!!!  It was a totally different vibe from LG Fashion Week and a completely different crowd.  Gathered together in the unique space that is 99 Sudbury Street, various rooms opened onto each other and made the gathering intimate and interesting.  The industrial space was transformed into unique pockets of visual and performance art, leading into a main room where the runway shows and screenings of fashion films took place. 

Our first foray into the performance art was this piece of installation art by Johannes Zits entitled ‘Pre-Loved Actions’.  Can’t quite tell you what it was about or what we were supposed to take away from it, but it did make we want to go home and fold laundry. 

The next one was beautifully placed on a bright orange wall ironically entitled ‘Untitled Wall System’ by Eric Cheung, Oliver Dang, Nicole Bouchard and Jacob JeBailey.  I thought it gave paper snowflakes a whole new meaning!

The last installation piece that I thought was interesting was ‘Soft Response’ by Slavica Panic and David Anderson.  I sort of felt like that would be a great room let out your frustrations in…a whole kind of padded wall concept with soft pillows to break your fall!

When we found some seats (second row seems to be our fated spot at these events) we spent time looking around at the crowd assembled and admired a fine looking fellow in a sparkly sequined blouse, a sassy woman wearing what appeared to be a home made crown and a fantastic woman dressed to the nines in goth chic.  She was kind enough to let me take a picture of her, so without further ado, I present the electrifying Daisy:

Also noteworthy was a dapper fellow I saw named Mike.  He just had such an air about him and was hands down the best dressed man there!

Alternative Fashion Week Part Deux...

As with anything in the fashion world, everything started 40 minutes late and the film that we had been clamouring to see, a short piece about the Gaudet Fashion House, was announced to have been postponed till Friday.  Gio Gaudet is a fantastic designer who we met at LG Fashion Week and we were so excited to see what he had to bring to the runway.  We’re not sure why it was pushed back, but either way, Friday goers to alternative fashion week will enjoy what is to come! 

What I absolutely loved about F.A.T. was the series of four fashion shows back to back.  Each little tidbit from the designers featured varied looks and happened with very brief lapses in between.  It was great to not have to jostle for a seat after each offering.  Here is a taste of what we saw:

So ends my time at F.A.T.  It was cool, original and yes, slightly weird.  But what is life without a little spice and something to test our boundaries of what we believe to be fashion and art?  Boring never gets us anywhere…

'Geordie Shore': UK 'Jersey Shore' Announces Cast

Might want to beef up the security at the Royal Wedding; fist pump partying is invading Britain.

While MTV sends the cast of "Jersey Shore" to Italy, England is getting its very own cast of hard-partying, drink-happy characters, as they've announced the cast of "Geordie Shore." Based, obviously, on the format of the American show, "Geordie Shore" will feature eight young scholars from the city of Newcastle -- conveniently, those from that city are known as Toons.

The cast looks similar to the American show; muscle-bound guys and girls fond of eye shadow predominate, and many of them match up to their American cousins.....This cast looks hotter than ours! THOUGHTS?
