Spices split
The Spice Girls sensationally announced that they are to end their world tour early – amid reports of arguments within the band.
Their last show will be in Toronto on February 26 and they have cancelled gigs in Australia, South Africa and China.
The girls released a statement on their website, saying: ‘Really sorry if we didn’t get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives now but who knows what will happen next.’
It was reported that David Beckham made a dash from launching his soccer academy in Brazil to be by his wife Victoria’s side, who now wants to focus solely on her fashion career.
‘I’ve been thinking about this for a long time,’ says Victoria.
‘I’m not in the music industry anymore. I’m in the fashion industry.’ It is also believed that Mel B missed her family and Mel C wants to focus on her solo career.
The Spice Girls’ spokesman shrugged off other claims that there was a lack of demand for tickets, insisting: ‘The girls want to get back to their families – it’s not about lack of demand.’
